Leaders often find themselves in a lonely place. As the go-to person, who do you go to? With staff, board and constituents depending on you, you often need a place to air your thoughts, ideas, and fears – to bounce concepts around – to regroup and get your game face back to continue doing what you do best. The above-mentioned groups usually are not in the best position to provide the necessary support. This is where executive coaching comes in. Sometimes we need someone to hold a vision for us, especially when we are not in the best position to do it for ourselves.
My approach is to provide a safe and confidential space, serving as an attentive listener, strategic partner, devil’s advocate, nurturing questioner, and ally. I am straightforward, honest and probing. My approach is to not be overly prescriptive but to encourage introspection and clarity that help you focus and make decisions that are in your best interest.
I pride myself on asking the right questions, providing context, and creating a framework where leaders can begin answering critical questions and resolving the vexing issues that inhibit personal satisfaction and goal achievement.
